What is the best way to prevent razor bumps?

Razor Bumps are best prevented in 3 easy steps:

  • Toss out multiple blade razors.
Using a double or triple blade razor, shaving over the same area, or stretching the skin in an effort to get a closer shave only increases the number of hairs trapped under the skin and aggravates the razor bump problem.
  • Using electric clippers or a single blade razor, shave in the direction of hair growth.
Avoid electric rotary razors, which cut the hairs at multiple angles and directions, and can aggrevate the razor bump problem.
  • After shaving, apply CLEARSHAVE™ Aftercare Balm which protects the skin from ingrowing hairs.
Continue to apply, once to twice daily, particularly as the hair begins to regrow. ClearShave aftershave balm contains ingredients to protect the skin without burning or stinging.

Do I really need to use a cream or gel to shave?

Using shaving lotions provides a more comfortable shave and reduces razor rash, cuts, and razor bumps. Use a shaving lotion or gel before every shave to moisten your skin and soften hairs for easier, more pleasant shaving.

How long can I use the same razor?

If you suffer from razor bumps and rashes or have very sensitive skin, never use the same blade more than two times. If your skin is less sensitive, you may be able to use one razor blade for up to 10 shaves.

Does CLEARSHAVE™ Aftercare Balm work for bumps caused by waxing?

ClearShave aftershave balm can help prevent ingrown hair bumps caused by any method of hair removal. Apple ClearShave once daily as hair begins to regrow, usually 7 to 10 days after waxing.
